Awkwafina
Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and performer who made her name with smart raps that addressed gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. She also received classical and jazz training later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. At college, she was studying the field of women's studies and journalism. In addition, she spent an hour studying Mandarin in Beijing. After graduation, her focus shift to music. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also contained were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. The track that was published specifically linked to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. Alongside having published a book as well, she also worked as a singer. Alongside early TV shows that included Girl Code and Tawk - she appeared in movies Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. She had a breakthrough role in the year 2018, with several movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released In Fina We Trust.
